Partnerships

We value partnerships. Our heart is to partner with God in the work that God is doing in our world. We seek to serve together with organizations with similar values and ministry approaches, and we have prayerfully and strategically engaged in partnerships that reflect the words of Acts 1:8:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

In the power of the Spirit, we seek to build for the kingdom of God, both near and far, and in places in-between.

Current partnerships include:

  • Shepherd’s Heart Ministries, a local church in the uptown district of Pittsburgh that serves the broken and vulnerable population of our city. Every other month we participate in corporate worship with the community of faith and serve a nutritious meal for members of the community. We also support special projects throughout the year that advance the mission of Shepherd’s Heart.
  • Pregnancy Resource Center of the South Hills  – The Pregnancy Resource Center is a medical facility that has been serving the community since 1990 with a variety of services and programs in support of life.
  • The Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) – The CCO is a campus ministry that partners with churches, colleges, and other organizations to develop men and women who live out their Christian faith in every area of life. Their core purpose is transforming college students to transform the world. We partner with the CCO through the ministry of Katherine Sikma on the campus of Point Park University. (Read more about our involvement with college students here).
  • The Pittsburgh Project is a nonprofit community development organization with a 25-year track record of developing leaders and serving the city’s most vulnerable residents. The vision of the project is that Pittsburgh will be called a City of Truth, where once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets, each with cane in hand because of age, and where the city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there (adapted from Zechariah 8:4-5). Each fall, we partner with the Pittsburgh Project by serving vulnerable urban homeowners.
  • The Gulf Coast Region – In response to the needs presented in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, our community has partnered with a number of organizations (Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army) to bring real help and hope to people in real need. Since 2005, we have been sending work teams into the region to participate in both home restoration and new home construction.
  • Venti Africa  – We are committed to the people of East Africa and serve in Ethiopia through with our partnership with World Vision in Guraghe, Ethiopia. We also work in Uganda through our partnerships with Compassion International , the Pastors’ Discipleship Network, and Nakawa Pentecostal Church.
